The Discovery Space

A short journey of ten to twenty minutes, one on one, weaving together conversation, meditation, creation and play with a handful of tools that tend to open something up. I bring it to events anywhere in the country.

How it started

The idea came from street musicians

Years ago I knew I wanted to bring out what was in me — my feel for body language, the insights I had gathered, the tools I had collected along the way. I simply had no idea how. I had no clients, and the whole thing felt a long way off.

Then something occurred to me that, for me, changed everything. I thought about musicians who play in the street. They are still the biggest inspiration behind all of this. Why? Because the urge to bring themselves, and to give people their gift, burns so strongly in them that they are not willing to wait for anything. They pick up their instrument and go play for whoever happens to walk by.

So I asked myself: if musicians do that, what is stopping me from taking my own gift out to the street? Why would I wait?

The idea sat in me for a year or more before it felt like time to go. At first I played with the name and called it "Psychology for a Shekel" — a small evolution of an old Hebrew saying. For a long stretch after that it was "The Space of Inquiry". Today it is The Discovery Space.

I started in Tel Aviv, betting that a city like that would be open to something this strange — and I was right, by a mile. On the grass facing the sea, not far from Jaffa, more people were drawn in than anywhere else, and it was a pleasure to work there. Jerusalem never quite took. Pardes Hanna was so-so.

What I learned is that the street is lovely, but the real thing happens at events I am invited to in advance. People arrive genuinely thirsty for something like this, more than anywhere else. At large parties I have found myself giving for twelve hours almost without a break — and what a joy it is to be pulled into that, with the time disappearing underneath you.

In short

So what is the Discovery Space?

A short journey of ten to twenty minutes, usually one on one, weaving together conversation, meditation, creation and play with a range of tools that open something up.

We almost always begin with a very short meditation, and from there we let the flow of things decide which tools we touch — if any at all. Sometimes conversation is the only thing being asked for.

What it is for: more inner happiness, through understanding yourself and strengthening self-acceptance and self-love.

Possible stops along the way

  • Blending a mantra of your own, for whatever this stretch of life is asking of you
  • Techniques and tools for working with thoughts and feelings
  • Simply looking together at whatever comes up — with nowhere in particular to get to

Tools from East and West

Unusual books · special card decks · Trilotherapy · Human Design

"We almost always begin with a very short meditation, and from there we let the flow of things decide which tools we touch — if any at all. Sometimes conversation is the only thing being asked for."

There is no fixed recipe here and nothing to prepare. You can arrive with a question, with something you are weighing, or out of plain curiosity — and the space shapes itself around whoever sits down.
